January 29th, as “Milton Friedman Day”PROCLAMATION by theGovernor of the State of California WHEREAS, Milton Friedman was one of the most influential economists of the twentieth century; and WHEREAS, Milton Friedman made so many contributions to economics and statistics that he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, National Medal of Science and the 1976 Nobel Memorial Prize; and WHEREAS, Milton Friedman helped restore our faith in the freedom of the individual to choose in every sense of the word – political, economic and social – and was devoted to the simple idea that we are responsible for our own lives, to live them as we see fit as long as it does not violate the liberty of others; and WHEREAS, Milton Friedman shared his knowledge through many books and projects such as his television series Free to Choose, which greatly influenced me and millions of others about the way we view freedom; and WHEREAS, Milton Friedman was a dear friend who provided trusted advice on my Council of Economic Advisors and shared wisdom and insight on issues of great importance; and WHEREAS, Milton Friedman was a great man whose friendly and humble demeanor belied his enormous intellect and tremendous capacity to influence the world; and WHEREAS, Milton Friedman has left us, but his spirit will always live on in our hearts and minds – and in the hearts and minds of those everywhere who cherish freedom; NOW, THEREFORE, I, ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER, Governor of the State of California, do hereby join other cities, universities and research institutions across the nation in proclaiming January 29th, as “Milton Friedman Day.” IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have here unto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the State of California to be affixed this 19th day of January 2007. http://gov.ca.gov/index.php?/proclamation/5205/

Quoiqu'apres recherche, meme s'il dit que si l'economie le permet c'est bien etc, il a tout fait pour bloquer les tentatives des democrates de le monter en Californie… donc ces citations sont peut-etre pour pas avoir l'air radical, mais dans la pratique il a bien bloque les demandes de montee de SMIC… enfin il etait neanmoins en son pouvoir de l'abolir completement aussi.
